Overview
Applies to
- Version: Viozi 1.0 (based on the app as of October 31, 2026; later versions may look different).
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple TV settings have no diagnostics entry. For an Apple TV problem, describe it from your iPhone or Mac.
Before you start
- You need an Internet connection; the upload goes to the author's server.
- If you can, reproduce the problem once more and upload right away, so the log contains the recent events.
- Prepare a one-line description: which source, what you did, what you saw, and roughly when. Do not include passwords, accounts or server addresses.
Where to find it
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → the About section at the bottom → Diagnostic Reports.
- Mac: Settings → About → Diagnostic Logs…. A diagnostics window opens with Send to the author and Export Log at the top right.
Steps (iPhone / iPad)
- Open Diagnostic Reports. If Viozi has crashed or frozen before, the list shows reports left by the system with their date and size. Otherwise it shows "No diagnostic reports".
- Tap Send to the author at the top right.
- Under Attachments (optional), choose what to include:
- Diagnostic Reports: crash and freeze reports stored on this device. The switch is disabled when there are none.
- Logs: Viozi's app log. Only the most recent part is attached.
- Describe the problem in Requests or suggestions.
- Read the note under the button: uploads go to the author's server, are used only to troubleshoot, and are deleted after 30 days. If you agree, tap Upload to the Author.
- You will see Packaging…, Uploading …%, then Confirming….
- When it finishes, you see "Uploaded to the author" and a code. Tap Copy Code.
Expected result
- You get a report code. Mention it on the palveni.com message board or by email so the author can find your report.
- The report is kept on the author's server for 30 days.
Options and differences
- App Store vs. TestFlight:
- In the App Store version, Diagnostic Reports has no Export Log row. Logs can only be attached, in their most recent part, through Upload to the Author.
- TestFlight builds show an extra Export Log row that shares the full log through the share sheet (AirDrop, Mail, Save to Files).
- Send by Email Instead: opens Mail with the address shown in the app. In the App Store version the email carries diagnostic reports only, not logs. If no mail account is set up, you will see "Can't send mail"; use the upload instead.
- Mac: Export Log in the diagnostics window reveals the log file in Finder so you decide whether to send it. The window also shows memory, CPU and cache usage and the number of crashes in the last 30 days.
- You can upload text only: leave all attachments off and just fill in Requests or suggestions.
Limits
- The package must not exceed 8 MB.
- Each device has a limited number of uploads per day (currently 5 by default). When they are used up, wait until the time shown in the app.
- If the upload service is unavailable, the app tells you and nothing is sent.
- Only what you select is uploaded. Logs have common sensitive details removed, but please still keep passwords, tokens and private addresses out of your description.
If something goes wrong
- Upload failed: see Diagnostic report upload failed.
- The app won't open, crashes or freezes: see Viozi crashes, freezes or opens in Safe Mode.
- Can't find reports or logs: see Can't find diagnostic reports or logs.
