Turn on iCloud sync
Settings › Sync › iCloud Sync: turn on Enable iCloud Sync. All devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account and allow Primuse to use iCloud (tap Open System Settings to check). You can tap Sync Now at any time.
Sync playlists, Liked Songs, music sources, playback history, and settings across devices signed in to the same iCloud account. Source passwords and cloud-drive login state sync via iCloud Keychain.
What syncs
Synced items:
- Playlists and Liked Songs
- Music sources (passwords excluded)
- Recent playback (5-minute throttle)
- Playback settings, equalizer, scraper config
- Source passwords & cloud login (Keychain)
- Listening Stats
Notes:
- Local music library and caches are not synced — each device scans independently.
- Player, layout and color preferences, plus favorites (playlists, audiobooks, folders and their order), sync with settings; folders and books on this device’s local sources stay here. Favorite albums and artists, ratings and comments sync with playlists.
- While music sources sync, your iPhone, iPad and Mac share the song tags they have already read: once one device has read a source, the others only read files that are new or changed. Tags you edit and covers you change sync too, and Restore File Tags on one device restores them on the others.
iCloud sync doesn't upload or sync the audio files themselves. To send existing cache directly to another device, see Cache Sync in Offline downloads, audio cache and storage management.
CarPlay (iPhone)
Settings › Playback › CarPlay: set Layout Presets, Home Sections, Pinned Playlists, Tap Playlists or Albums to Play, Show Now Playing on Connection and more.
Apple TV and casting (iPhone, iPad)
Settings › Services & Integrations:
- Apple TV: Send to Apple TV now. Sign in to the same iCloud account on your Apple TV to see this library and its sources, passwords included. The Apple TV reaches NAS drives, media servers and cloud drives on its own; only music stored on this phone and NFSv4 sources need the relay.
- Apple TV Relay: Let Apple TV play via this device. Keep Primuse open in the foreground and both devices on the same Wi-Fi. Music stored on this phone also has to be sent with “Transfer Library from iPhone” on the Apple TV.
- DLNA Receiver: Accept casts from this network. Other devices on the same Wi-Fi (VLC, Synology Audio Station, Plex, Hi-Fi Cast, etc.) will see Primuse as a media renderer and can push audio for playback.
