Play queue
- On a song, choose Play Next to play it next or Add to Queue to add it to the end of the queue; list pages offer Add All to Queue.
- In the player, open Queue to drag to reorder, remove songs, or choose Clear Played.
- An empty queue shows "Queue Empty".
Shuffle and repeat
In the queue, tap Playback Mode: Tap to switch to the next mode; touch and hold to choose one. Choose Shuffle, Repeat All or Repeat One.
Shuffle Preference (Settings › Playback Settings):

This preference applies once shuffle is on.. When Apple Music handles shuffle itself, this preference does not apply.
Keep Together in Shuffle: In shuffle, play with the adjacent track on the album. Useful for albums where an intro and the main track are separate files.
When the queue ends
With Keep Playing Similar Songs on: When the queue ends, songs from your library like the last few keep the music going. They appear under "Autoplay" in the queue. Audiobooks, radio and repeat are not affected.
Previous button
Previous Restarts the Song First: After a song has played for 3 seconds, Previous first starts it over and a second press goes to the previous song. Turn this off to always go straight to the previous song.
Picking up where you left off
When you reopen the app, Primuse restores your last queue and position. Audiobooks remember the position in each book.
Playback speed
Playback Settings › Playback Speed: 0.5×–2.0×. Pitch is preserved — useful for podcasts or careful listening. Changing speed requires the Effects & Processing output mode; see Audio effects, equalizer and output settings.
Medley
Medley plays the highlight of each song in the queue back to back. In the queue, choose Play Queue as Medley, and adjust Length per Song in settings. When you hear a song you like, tap Keep Playing This Song in Full. To blend each part smoothly, a medley downloads the next songs in full, which can use a lot of data.
Sleep timer
In the player, open Sleep Timer and choose a duration, Stop After or a custom setting (Countdown / Stop at Time). With Finish the Current Song on: When the timer runs out with less than 20 minutes of the song left, the song plays to the end instead of fading out.
Streaming quality
In Playback Settings › Streaming Quality, set Wi-Fi and Cellular separately: Original, 320, 192 or 128 kbps. This only applies to music servers that support transcoding (Subsonic / Navidrome, Emby, Jellyfin and compatible servers).
