1. Check the scan scope and progress
- Go to Manage Sources, open the music source and check Scan Directories. Connect and select directories to scan for music files
- If you see "Scanning music files...", wait for the scan to finish. You can leave this page; scanning continues in the background.
- "Server is scanning its library; will continue when it finishes..." means the server is still building its own library.
- It's normal for a folder to have more files than songs; artwork, lyrics and other supporting files aren't counted as songs.
2. New songs on the server don't appear
Media server sources can turn on Refresh Automatically. When Primuse opens, comes back to the foreground or you refresh, it checks the server's library and syncs the local catalog only when server content has changed. It does not start a server scan. If you need an update right away, refresh or rescan by hand.
3. Cloud drive songs show only file names, or the count keeps changing
Cloud drives list files first and read song details afterwards. If Wi-Fi only for cloud details is on, reading pauses on cellular. Cloud scans only fetch filenames upfront. Track details (artist, album, cover, duration) are loaded in the background — about 256KB per song. With this on, loading pauses on cellular and resumes when you reconnect to Wi-Fi.
4. The song was put in a different category
- The song may have been treated as an audiobook or podcast; look there. Choose Mark as Music in the song menu to change it back.
- When adding or editing a media server source, the type of each selected server library decides whether its content is imported as music or spoken word; excluded libraries aren't imported.
- In Settings › Library Display › Library Categories (on a Mac, Settings › Appearance), make sure the category isn't hidden. Drag to reorder. Visibility and order apply to Library, the sidebar, and minimal mode tabs.
5. The music source was deleted, or files are temporarily unreachable
- If the whole music source was deleted, restore it in Settings › Recently Deleted › Music Sources. Deleted playlists, music sources and scraper configs are kept here for 30 days.
- If a scan shows a message like the one below, Primuse is temporarily keeping these songs to avoid removing them by mistake: This scan found N fewer songs than last time; a drive or shared folder may not be mounted right now. They are kept in case, and removed if M more full scans still don’t find them. Make sure the drive or shared folder is mounted, then scan again.
6. It's in the library, but search can't find it
See Search in Primuse and find songs with Spotlight.

问题原因
A song usually "disappears" because its folder wasn't selected for scanning, the scan hasn't finished, new content on the server hasn't been refreshed, cloud drive details haven't finished loading, the song was classified as an audiobook or podcast, a library category is hidden, the music source was deleted, or the file is only temporarily unreachable.
