功能說明
Before you start
- The NAS or server has the matching service turned on (for example SMB file sharing or WebDAV) and an account that can read your music folder.
- To connect from outside your home network you need a public domain name, port forwarding, a VPN or the vendor's remote access service.
- Go to Settings › Manage Sources (in the Library group) › +, then on Select Source Type choose a NAS or a type under Protocol.
Entering the address
- Server Address accepts Domain, IP, or full URL. Leave the port blank and Primuse works it out when you save.
- Below the address, Primuse shows how it reads what you typed, for example "Internet", "Mesh network" or "Read as a QuickConnect ID". If it is wrong, tap This is a name on my own network or This is a remote access ID to correct it.
- Tap Add an alternate address to add an Alternate Address, for example one local IP and one public domain. There are two address slots; once both are used, any extra line shows "Both address slots are taken, so this one will not be used".
- To set a fixed port or encryption, open Set the port and encryption manually.
What each type needs
| Type | Required | Options and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Synology | Under Connection Method, choose an address or QuickConnect; DSM account and password | Enter the QuickConnect ID from DSM. Primuse automatically chooses direct access, Smart DNS, or relay. With two-step verification on, enter the 6-digit code when asked; you can turn on Remember Device |
| QNAP | Address, account, password | Supports QTS / QuTS; also supports two-step verification and Remember Device |
| SMB/CIFS | Address, Share Name, user name and password | Supports SMB2/3; Auth Method can be set to Guest |
| WebDAV | Full URL or host, user name and password | A subpath is allowed; Auth Method can be set to Guest |
| FTP | Address, user name and password | Encryption supports FTPS/FTPES; Guest (anonymous) is available; Data Connection defaults to Automatic |
| SFTP | Address, user name; under Auth Method choose password or SSH Key | Paste PEM private key here... |
| NFS | Address | NFS Version can be v3 or v4; the first time, connect and choose the export path |
| S3 | Endpoint, Bucket, Region, Access Key, Secret Key | Works with AWS S3, MinIO and R2 |
| UPnP/DLNA | Usually nothing to enter: Automatic discovery | Must be on the same local network as the server |
FTP Data Connection: Automatic tries EPSV first and falls back to PASV; when the server reports a local address, it connects to the address you entered instead. Choose Passive (PASV) or Extended Passive (EPSV) only if your server needs that exact command. Active (PORT) is for servers that only allow active mode: the server connects back to this device, so it works only on the same network as the server, not over cellular data.
Choose folders and scan
- After saving, on Scan Directories, select the folders that contain your music.
- Tap Done to start the scan. You can leave this page; scanning continues in the background.
- Later, in the source's row, tap Manage Directories to add or remove folders, or Scan to read new and changed files.
Expected result: songs from the selected folders appear in your library, and artwork and lyrics are filled in gradually in the background.
Limitations
- Dedicated connections for Ugreen and fnOS are not available yet. Use a general protocol such as SMB or WebDAV instead; fnOS users can also use Feiniu Music (see the media server article).
- Only trust a self-signed HTTPS certificate after confirming the server is yours. The trusted list is in Settings › Trusted Domains (in the Security group).
- A local address only works on the same network. Away from home you need a public address or a VPN.
