Viozi 1.0. The steps use iPhone; iPad and Mac use the same names. For Apple TV see Use Viozi on Apple TV.
Before you start
- Know where your videos are: a shared folder on a NAS or computer, a Jellyfin / Emby / Plex server, a cloud drive, or files on this device.
- For a NAS or server, have the address, user name and password ready. The device and server should preferably be on the same local network.
Steps
- On first launch, the welcome pages introduce "All your videos in one place". Tap Add your first source, or Maybe later.
- Any time later, go to Settings → Library → Media Sources and tap + (Add Source) at the top right.
- Choose a type in Select Source Type. Devices found on your local network appear under Discovered Devices and can be tapped directly.
- Enter the address. Usually only the server address is needed; the port and encryption are worked out automatically. Enter a user name and password if required.
- Select the folders with your videos and tap Done; Viozi starts scanning. Media servers (Jellyfin, Emby, Plex) sync their movie and TV libraries after sign-in, so there are no folders to choose. For cloud drives, follow the prompts to authorize.
- You can leave the page while scanning; it continues in the background.
Expected result
- Videos appear in Home and Library, with posters, overviews and ratings filled in automatically.
- In Media Sources, each source shows its status, such as "Scanning…" or "Scan interrupted, can resume".
Basic playback controls
- Tap the picture to show the controls, tap again to hide them.
- Double-tap the left or right side to go back or forward 10 seconds; swipe left or right to seek.
If something goes wrong
- Can't connect or sign in: see A source won't connect, sign-in fails or no videos are found.
- Videos missing or wrongly matched after scanning: see Scan and refresh your library and fix video metadata.
- Won't play: see Video won't play, stutters, goes black or shows wrong colors.
